My view of technology in the classroom has changed immensely. I knew that technology has become more integrated into the classrooms than when I was in grade school; but what I didn't know was about all of the different ways you could incorporate technology to make assignments more exciting and enticing. The iPad apps assignment really brought to light of all the apps that can be used for educational purposes. I would really like to use many of the apps that were displayed in my own classroom for projects and assignments. Google sites will be a wonderful communication tool for me to use with both my students and parents. The lessons on the Smart boards and the Promethean boards was probably the most beneficial to me because I am positive that at least one of these will be used in my classroom. I would like to explore either of these in depth so that I am getting the most use from what they can offer. My favorite thing we learned about was Google Cache. This was a lot of fun. I can see possibly doing a scavenger hunt with my students by using this app.

How has this class affected your view of technology use in the classroom?
I have really enjoyed this class. This class has really opened my eyes as to how technology can be used in the classroom. Technology is an important part of our students' lives and we as teachers need to know how to reach them on their level.
What areas of technology would you like to explore further for use in your classroom?
I would really to learn more about Google Cardboard and other types of virtual reality technology. I would like to be able to incorporate this type of technology into my classroom because some students may never get to see the world outside of their neighborhood. My older son talks about how he uses this in some of his classes at STEAM and he gets really excited when he tells me how this was used in a lesson.
List 4-5 new things you have learned in this class and give an example of how you might use them in your classroom.
1. Voki - I will definitely use this in my classroom! This is the cutest thing ever and I think it is a neat and different way to do introductions.
2. Ipad Apps - I had such a great time learning about all of the different apps my classmates came up with. I loved how each one can be used for various grade levels.
3. Smart Board/Promethean Boards - I love how interactive this technology is. It offers new and exciting ways to teach and interact with students.
4. Google Site - This is was a super easy website to build. I love the flexibility it offers. This is something I will be using to keep my parents up to date on all of classroom happenings.
5. Glogster - Most students hate the dreaded book report. I love how this offers them a unique way of presenting their information. Not only can they use this for book reports, this can be used for any type of presentation. I really enjoyed learning about all of the different technology sites my classmate explored. I can see using many, if not all of them in my classroom.

This class has changed the way I look at technology, it has taught me different ways to use it and I have discovered new websites and resources that I can use in the future. More importantly, this class has taught me that there are creative, and innovative ways to incorporate technology in the classroom.
This semester I learned a lot about technology and how it can be used in school. A few things that I learned, and that I would like to use in my classroom were the following.
Personally, SmartBoard fascinated me. I like how it is very hands on and that the teacher is able to create or download new templates that can be used as a teaching tool for students. This technology can be used by creating interactive lessons were students are able to use their hands, and move things around.
Another thing that I discovered this semester was how to use Voki. I can definitely see myself using Voki in the classroom. Students can introduce themselves at the beginning of the year by making an animated character that tells their peers facts about them; what they like, and what they don't like, without having to stand at the front of the room and feel embarrassed.
Two other tools that I liked, were the ipad and podcasts. With these two technologies in the classroom, students have an opportunity to be creative by making their own podcasts. After a lesson, students can use the ipads to record themselves and to talk about a certain topic of the lesson that was taught. This would be a great way to asses what they have learned, and for them retell part of the lesson in their own words by doing a podcast where they pick a certain concept of the lesson and film themselves explaining how they can use what they have learned during the lesson in real life.
In conclusion this class really introduced me to new resources of technology that can be incorporated in the classroom. Not only did I gained a deeper understanding of how technology can be used as a learning tool, but I also learned how to work these technology tools, as well as simple features in microsoft word and ipad. Without doubt, this was my favorite class of the semester.

This class is great. I learned many new technology which can be used on teaching. Some of them I knew but never think about that I can use them to teach. It’s not only me knew more knowledges, my future students will be also lucky to have a more convenient and interesting study life with different technology. I will not only use the normal ways to teach and communicate with the students and their parents.
I would like to explore the technology which can attract students’ attention. It can help me to let students focus on what we learn. The students will also enjoy their learning. I really want students learn happily.
- Family newsletter. I’ve never seen this before. But I think it really helps to communicate with the parents and let them know our schedule.
- Goole sites is a easier way to creat a not complicated website, but it’s enough for teacher and students. I might use it like Dr. Gaffner did for us. Make a class schedule and give students resources.
- Google doc. I knew google doc, but never used before. Now I know people can work on the same page together. That’s cool. Students can also use this to do their group activities.
- Technology sites explore. Cacoo is a good website for the class begin with. And also I like the greeting cards model.
- Smart board. It’s a fantastic invention which can let students pay attention on the class. I might let student take part in the class more with smart board.

I always knew that technology can expand the reaches of learning but throughout this class I have learned about so many new technologies and ways to use them in the classroom! I would really like to learn more about and explore different assistive technologies. I think that all teachers should be knowledgeable and comfortable with assistive technology so that they can expand their students horizons and open up more opportunities for their students with disabilities.
Some of the new things I learned about this semester include: iPad apps that can be used in a variety of ways in the classroom from schedules and reminders to games for anchor activities, extensions, and remediation, Online technology that allows students to create their own comic books which is a great tool to allow students to use instead of giving an oral report or a book report about something, Smart board and Promethean boards that EVERY teacher nowadays should learn how to utilize because there are so many activities, student choosers, and lesson plans that are easily used with the boards and allow the students to really get involved, also my favorite thing I learned about this semester was the assistive technology. There are so many reasons that people should know these things exist and know how to use them and that they are available. With these technologies you can completely turn around a child's learning. There will come a time in every teacher's career that they will have a student with some type of disability and it is important to me to know what there is available to bridge the gap and help them reach their full potential.

Personally, I have grown immensely during this semester; this class gave me the opportunity to see the importance of technology in the education field. I learn that there are many different types of technology using in the classrooms, for example, the smart board, this is used to teach interactive lessons in almost all of the major subjects, including math, spelling, language art, etc. The technology is geared towards creating curiosity in the mind of students. I truly believe that through the use of technology, students can be active participants as opposed to passive ones where they receive instructions or information. I'm planning on implement the use of technology in my lesson plans. Some of the things that I would like to implement are Google Earth it can be an amazing way to show the students anywhere of the world. Google Doc is another tool that I like with it I can create and share documents with students. Smart Board is another tool that I’m going to use to engage students learning. Google Drive. In my opinion, it's one of the best tools because it can be use it in a variety of ways like share class folders with students, where students have access to the assignments. Similarly, students share a folder with me for homework. Finally, Blogger which can helps the students to improve their writing skills and build their confidence as a writer. The Aurasma app caught my attention and I would like to know more about it.
I learn a lot of valuable information in this class during this semester. It was a great Experience!!

This class has impacted my view of technology in the classroom greatly. Before I took the class, I was clueless on how to use technology. A technology that I would like to learn more about is the QR codes. This technology amazes me.
First, Voki is a technology that I would like to use in my classroom. If I have older students, I could have students present their research projects this way to the classroom. Second, Microsoft word would be a technology that I would definitely use in the classroom so that students can learn to make tables and organize their observations in any subject. I could also use tables to sort pictures, words, letters, or just about anything. Third, Google calendar and Google voice are necessary in the classroom in order to keep in touch with the parents. I could also use the calendar in order to teach the children about the days of the week. Fourth, the Promethean board or Smart board are useful tools to enhance a child's learning. I would use these for any subject and create a game activity that teaches a subject in Teks. Fifth, IPods are a tool that I will hopefully use in the classroom to teach content areas. I would use the iPods to download Apps that can help students create, learn , and explore content areas.
Lastly, I feel I have benefited greatly from this class, especially in my professional development. I recommend this class to beginning teachers.

Google glass
I choose this topic because it’s the technology I know best and I think it’s convenient to use in education. Google glass is good in some ways.
Students can record easily during the class without holding a smartphone. Their hands will be free. Google glass can connect with google account and upload the videos to google drive. They can review the videos whenever they want. If a student is absent for sick, other classmates can record the class for him/her with google glass. They don’t need to do anything special, just be like normal time. It is also helpful to search something during the class with google glass. When the teacher is doing some experiments out of school, he/she can use google glass to show the students what happened right now. Google glass has any other advantage; these are some more important parts I think. So many people are excited to see google glass be used in education.
But still, there are some cons. One thing is the battery. The low battery life couldn’t stay for a whole day. Another thing is that some people feel uncomfortable when they wear a google glass. The words fly in front of their eyes may make them feel dizzy. The other important thing is privacy. People wear google glass can record anything and others will never know. So many people feel uncomfortable and be bothered with someone wear google glass. And also, google glass is not deserved this price.
For me, I think google glass is really good for international students. We can record the class easily and translate anytime. But the price is too high. It’s better for the teacher to do some experiments and show students. There is a video about it: Google Glass overview - education.

Drones
A drone is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), or flying robot, that can remotely controlled through preprogrammed flight plans in their embedded systems that work in conjunction with GPS. The aircraft can either fly in straight lines, or circles until the engine runs low on fuel and then the drone can land.
Drones are often used in the military because as an unpiloted aircraft, drones don't put a soldier's life at risk in combat zones. Drones are also used as search and rescue, surveillance, traffic and weather monitoring, and firefighting. Because their technology allows them to don't require rest, this enables them to fly as long as there is fuel and that the aircraft doesn't experience any mechanical difficulties.

Because their technology allows them to don't require rest, this enables them to fly as long as there is fuel and that the aircraft doesn't experience any mechanical difficulties.
In recent years though, personal drones have become increasingly more popular. Drones are often used for many purposes, these include search and rescue, surveillance, traffic and weather monitoring, geographical mapping, agriculture and for personal or professional photography and video.
I chose this topic because I find it fascinating that you can just fly technology that weights 60 pounds using a remote control and discover things that you might not be able to see while you are on the ground. One of the educational purposes that I can see with this technology is monitoring the weather, its patterns and changes, and capturing video and photographs throughout the school year to monitor the seasons and the different changes that our earth goes through.
One of the cons that I can see while using a drone is maybe seeing things that are not meant to be seeing, for example invading someone's privacy while flying the drone above their property or even spying on someone.
I do believe that the pros outweigh the cons, and as long as students understand that it is unethical to spy on someone, drones could be used to learn and discover new things.
What do you think about using drones in school? What are some activities that can be done in school with drones?
The Flipped Classroom
Gaming and Gamification
This blog is all about gaming and gamification. I chose this topic because I believe it is very important because a lot of our population spend most of their time playing games. It is even becoming a big part in our education systems because it motivates the students and allows them to have fun while they learn and it gives them a sense of optimism and responsibility.
Gaming allows people to feel like they are being productive and saving the world within their virtual world and also gives an escape from real world suffering. Games teach people how to solve big problems with the optimism that they can in fact solve them. The thought behind gamification is to merge the feelings and urgency of a video game into the real world. People do amazing things on a global scale in their games and yet never think that they can change the world in reality. Jane Mcgonigal does this inspiring TED talk where she talks about the games that she has made that immerses the player into a real world type problem (The human race will go extinct or the world is running out of oil) and requires you, in real life, to change and document your habits in order to fix it. If we can somehow convince people that they can change the world, just like they do in a game setting, there won't be any type of problem that we won't be able to solve.
I do also believe that there are some cons to this, as there is with everything. But, I do believe that this is an incredible idea and has the potential to create a better world. One of the cons might include not having appropriate games for the problems at hand. This entire operation is counting on people creating games for the issues we have and creating an environment that fosters productivity in that field.

BYOT - Bring Your Own Technology
Bring your own technology (BYOT) is a policy that allows students
to use their own personal electronic devices at school. Students have the option to use their own devices to complete classroom projects or access learning resources
while at school. I chose this topic
because of the numerous learning opportunities it
has brought to the world of education and I would love to be able to have this
option in my classroom. Even though many
schools are allowing students the use of technology to enhance their learning,
there are still challenges.
I believe that allowing students to bring
their own technology into the classroom promotes greater participation. Students are all about technology and when we
allows them to use incorporate it into everyday learning, they will become more
invested in the in the material and their own learning, and will be more likely
to succeed. There is a concern that implementing BYOT will increase the already significant divide between students from high- and lower-income families. There are people who feel that allowing students to bring their own technology it will make it easier to distinguish between students who have their own devices and low income students that will be forced to borrow devices from the school.
I think that by giving students a chance to prove
they can be digitally responsible citizens make the classroom environment more
trusting. How do you feel about allowing
students to bring their own technology into your classroom?
Below are links to a couple of Blogs that I enjoyed reading. Giving Students' a Chance

3D Printing
3D printing is a way of making products in layers. It has been around since the 80’s. Today, 3D printing is being used to make organs, objects, and other things. The printer can use human cells, plastic or other materials instead of ink. I believe this technology would be great to use in the classroom. Instead of having a discussion on insects, the teacher may be able to print a 3d model of an insect. Furthermore, I believe a 3d printer will provide concrete objects for ELL learners. I chose this technology because I saw a 3D printer at UNT and I wanted to learn more about it. My reaction to this technology is that this technology is very exciting! The pros to this technology is that it is very precise, can use many materials to build something, and it is accessible for at home use. The cons are that you may not be able to build something huge, you may have to learn advanced software, and you may not be able to build something that uses different types of materials on the inside of a particular product. Do you think Asia has a more sophisticated version of a 3D printer?

Holograms (Blog Topic)
I choose Holograms because it is a fascinating type of technology, which can be incorporated in a classroom. Holograms can create an illusion of a tri-dimensional images, with this kind of technology education could benefit in different ways. The use of holograms could bring unimagined levels of engagement and excitement to the learning process. Since, it gives the student the opportunity to interact in real life scenarios that may be either is too dangerous, expensive or difficult to perform in the classroom. Also, with holograms students can be taught by a "virtual teacher" who could be many kilometers away. However, there are some problems with this type of technology, first of all, the price. It is a very expensive technology the price is around 215,000 US dollar. Secondly, with the use of this technology would be easier for people to spy and hack people. Do you think is a good idea to use Holograms in the classrooms?
